Classification – dry white wine, PGI Thebes.
Grape variety – Kontoura 100%.
Vineyard – single “Episkopi” vineyard in the Muses Valley, planted in 1962 with traditional bush vines at approximately 380–420 m, on clay and gravel soils. The vineyard is non-irrigated.
Vinification – low-temperature fermentation followed by maturation on the fine lees and approximately 4–6 months in French oak barrels. The wine then matures for a further 6–8 months in bottle before release.
Appearance – medium yellow with green-gold highlights.
Aroma – citrus, pineapple and melon, layered with subtle vanilla and nutty notes from the oak.
Palate – medium-bodied and creamy, with refreshing acidity, ripe tropical fruit, butter and vanilla, and a long, complex finish.
Food pairing – grilled fish, poultry, pork, creamy pasta or risotto and semi-hard cheeses.
Serving temperature – 12–14 °C.
