Lyrarakis Liatiko Kedros Rose Old Vines, 2021, 13.5%, 0.75 L

Classification – dry rosé wine, PGI Crete.

Grape variety – Liatiko 100%.

Vineyard – old pre-phylloxera vines in the “Kedros” vineyard near Gerakari in the Amari area of Rethymnon, at approximately 850 m, on loam soils with northern exposure.

Vinification – the free-run juice is taken directly from the press and allowed to settle naturally. Approximately 10% of the wine matures for 2 months in 225 L oak barrels; yeast derivatives are used for stabilization and natural fining.

Appearance – pale salmon.

Aroma – wild berries and delicate floral notes, with a distinctive chalky character.

Palate – firm and steely, with vibrant acidity, mineral notes and an intense fruity finish.

Food pairing – shellfish, grilled red mullet and other seafood dishes.

Serving temperature – 10–12 °C.
