Classification – dry red wine, PGI Central Greece.
Grape variety – Merlot 50%, Mouhtaro 50%.
Vineyard – Merlot from the south/southeastern slopes of Mount Helicon at approximately 280 m on clay soils, blended with Mouhtaro from the Muses Valley at approximately 380–420 m on clay and gravel soils.
Vinification – the two varieties are vinified separately and blended after malolactic fermentation, followed by approximately 12 months of maturation in oak barrels and further bottle maturation before release.
Appearance – ruby red.
Aroma – sour cherry and red forest berries, with vanilla, chocolate, cocoa and sweet cinnamon spice.
Palate – medium-bodied and layered, with refreshing acidity, mellow rounded tannins, dark fruit, caramel and spice, leading to a long finish.
Food pairing – beef and lamb stews, roasted meats, tomato-based dishes with sweet spices and mature cheeses.
Serving temperature – 16–18 °C.
