Classification – dry red wine, PGI Thessaly.
Grape variety – Mavrotragano 100%.
Vineyard – a small vineyard in Kontariotissa, Pieria, on the foothills of Mount Olympus, at approximately 350 m, on poor sandy soils.
Vinification – classic red vinification in open-top tanks with approximately 20 days of extraction, followed by 18 months in French and American oak barrels, around half of them new.
Appearance – medium garnet with a brick-colored rim.
Aroma – elegant and complex, with roses, spice and concentrated dark fruit, framed by noticeable but well-integrated oak.
Palate – full-bodied and structured, with freshness, concentrated fruit, firm tannins and a long finish. The wine benefits from aeration and further bottle aging.
Food pairing – grilled or roasted red meats, game and richly flavored meat dishes.
Serving temperature – 16–17 °C.
