Classification – sweet white fortified wine, PDO Samos, Vin de Liqueur.
Grape variety – White Muscat 100%.
Vineyard – semi-mountainous vineyards of Samos, at approximately 300–1000 m.
Vinification – fermentation is stopped by the addition of neutral wine alcohol to retain natural sweetness, followed by 5 years of maturation in oak barrels.
Appearance – deep orange with bronze hues.
Aroma – honey, honeycomb, butterscotch, fruit preserves and cherries in alcohol, with cocoa, chocolate and dried-fruit notes.
Palate – rich and complex, balancing fresh Muscat character with tertiary notes of dried fruit, tobacco and chocolate. Residual sugar: approximately 200 g/L.
Food pairing – rich pastries, traditional baked desserts, fruit and nut tarts, aged cheeses, foie gras with quince or fig, and artisanal ice cream.
Serving temperature – 12–14 °C.
