Alpha Omega Gewürz Late Harvest, 12%, 0.5 L
Classification – naturally sweet white wine, PGI Florina.
Grape variety – Gewürztraminer 85%, Malagouzia 15%.
Vineyard – single vineyard “Horses” on the Amyndeon plateau, at approximately 690 m, with northwestern exposure toward Mount Voras. Sandy and sandy-clay soils provide excellent drainage.
Vinification – late-harvest grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine remains on the lees for 9 months with regular stirring, then ages for 12 months in Allier and Bertrange oak and a further 12 months in bottle. Residual sugar: 127 g/L.
Appearance – pale amber.
Aroma – expressive rose-petal, pear and apricot aromas, with the distinctive spicy floral character of Gewürztraminer.
Palate – full-bodied and richly flavored, with sweetness balanced by fresh acidity. The overall impression is refreshing and harmonious, with a long finish.
Food pairing – fruit tarts, fruit cakes, pavlova, Greek syrup desserts such as revani and baklava, blue cheeses and foie gras.
